Defending champions Suntory Sunbirds Osaka continued their strong start to the new Daido Life SV.League season with two victories over the Tokyo Great Bears closing the second week of regular season play.

First match thrilling encounter at Asue Arena went the full distance, with the home team edging out a 3-2 (25-15, 20-25, 29-27, 18-25, 15-12) win in front of over 7,000 fans.

Rematch saw a far more dominant display from Suntory Sunbirds, who swept the Tokyo Bears 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-15) to cap off the week in style.

In other matches, JTEKT Stings Aichi recorded two home wins over Toray Arrows Shizuoka, and Wolfdogs Nagoya outlasted Nagano Tridents in a five-set battle to move into second place. Osaka Bluteon topped the table after sweeping Voreas Hokkaido twice, while Sakai Blazers and Hiroshima Thunders shared victories in their doubleheader.
