JPN M: Shizuoka Spring Surprise Headlines Weekend in Japan’s SV.League

The final round of matches in the 10th leg of Japan’s men’s Daido Life SV.League was highlighted by a statement home win from Toray Arrows Shizuoka over JTEKT Stings Aichi.

After letting Saturday’s five-set thriller slip away, Shizuoka responded with authority on Sunday, sealing a 3–1 victory in front of their home fans. The result lifted Toray Arrows to seventh place in the standings, while the Stings held on to fourth despite the setback.

In other matches, Tokyo Great Bears continued their rise with a perfect weekend against Wolfdogs Nagoya. Tokyo edged a five-set battle on Saturday before producing a confident straight-sets win on Sunday. The double success pushed the Great Bears up to fifth, while Nagoya stayed third.

At the bottom end of the table, Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers enjoyed a crucial boost with two home wins over Nagano Tridents. The Blazers’ weekend sweep saw them climb to ninth place, swapping positions with Nagano.

League leaders Suntory Sunbirds Osaka showed no signs of slowing down, cruising past Hiroshima Thunders in straight sets on both days. The defending champions tightened their grip at the top of the standings, extending their dominant run.

Second-placed Osaka Bluteon also maintained momentum, securing two home victories against Voreas Hokkaido. One was a clean sweep, the other a comeback four-set win, keeping Bluteon firmly in the title race.
