JPN W: League Leaders Survive Five-Set Scares

Japan’s women’s Daido Life SV.League delivered another intense round of action, with all seven matchups played across a packed weekend schedule. Both teams at the top of the table were forced into five-set battles before steadying themselves to secure victories.

NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki survived a scare against Denso Airybees Koriyama, winning Saturday’s thriller 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14). They returned Sunday to close out the series in straight sets, 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 34-32), remaining firmly in first place at 26-4.

Second-placed Saga Hisamitsu Springs also had to work hard, edging Saitama Ageo Medics 3-2 (25-22, 24-26, 20-25, 25-18, 15-10) before earning a more comfortable 3-0 win (25-19, 25-20, 25-22) the next day.

Defending champions Osaka Marvelous stayed in contention with two dominant 3-0 victories over Aranmare Yamagata.

Victorina Himeji continued their strong form with back-to-back sweeps of Toray Arrows Shiga, while Astemo Rivale Ibaraki secured two wins over Okayama Seagulls.

PFU BlueCats and Queenseis Kariya, as well as Gunma Green Wings and Kurobe Aqua Fairies, split their respective weekend series.
