JPN W: Rosamaria’s 69 points push Denso into SV.League playoff zone

Rosamaria Montibeller totaled 69 points across two matches to guide Denso Airybees Koriyama back into playoff position in the women’s Daido Life SV.League.

Denso secured consecutive 3-1 road wins over 13th-placed Okayama Seagulls, improving its record to 16-18 and climbing from ninth to eighth place with 10 matches remaining in the regular season.

Rosamaria scored 36 points in Saturday’s comeback victory as Denso rallied from a first-set loss to win 19-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-19. She added 33 more points on Sunday in a 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22 triumph.

Saitama Ageo Medics slipped out of playoff position after dropping both road matches in straight sets to defending champion Osaka Marvelous.

League-leading NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki extended their winning streak to five matches with two home victories over Gunma Green Wings. NEC won 3-0 on Saturday behind 17 points from Giovanna Day and 16 from Yoshino Sato. In Sunday’s 3-1 win, Ai Hirota led with 25 points, while Sato added 23 and Sylvia Nwakalor contributed 21.

Second-placed Saga Hisamitsu Springs swept Toray Arrows Shiga on the road in straight sets both days. PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku also claimed two road wins over Astemo Rivale Ibaraki, including a five-set match on Saturday.

Victorina Himeji and Queenseis Kariya each completed weekend sweeps to hold their places in the top six as the playoff race continues.
