JPN M: Osaka Bluteon Crowned SV.League Champions

Osaka Bluteon fought back from an opening defeat to overcome defending champions Suntory Sunbirds Osaka and win the 2025/26 Daido Life SV.League men’s championship.

The club secured the series 2-1 after a commanding straight-sets victory in Sunday’s decider at Yokohama Arena. Opposite Yuji Nishida was named Finals MVP.

Suntory took control early with a 3-1 victory in final series opener, powered by Russian star Dmitriy Muserskiy. Bluteon responded the following day with a resilient five-set win to force a deciding match.

With momentum on their side, Bluteon dominated Sunday’s finale, defeating Suntory 25-22, 25-20, 25-18. Cuban outside hitter Miguel Lopez led the winners with 19 points, while Nishida added 15, including the title-winning ace. Muserskiy scored 18 points in the final match of his career before retirement.

“The players continued fighting under pressure and stayed focused until the final point,” Bluteon head coach Tuomas Sammelvuo said after the victory.
