Panthers
Panthers struggled with Toray Arrows 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 27-25, 22-25, 15-12) but remained at the top of the V-League standings with 3-0 score. Interestingly, the biggest star in the Panthers, Pole Michał Kubiak, was not even among two top scorers in his team. Kunihiro Shimizu had 26 while Tatsuya Fukuzawa added 22 points. Kubiak got 19. In Toray, Macedonian Nikola Gjorgiev collected 31 points.
Croatian Igor Omrčen had an amazing display in Gosei Trefuerza’s win over Sakai Blazers. He had 31 points for the reigning champions in a three-set game!
JTEKT Stings suffered another surprising defeat, while JT Thunders won their first game this season.
In Women’s V-League, a huge upset occured in Round 3! Title holders Hisamistu Springs lost to Okayama Seagulls at home 3-2 (25-20, 25-17, 22-25, 20-25, 15-10). Moe Sasaki led Seagulls with 29 points while Miyu Nagaoka scored the same number of points on the other side.
Toyota Queenseis achieved victory over PFU BlueCats 3-1 but their fans have one more reason to be happy. Polina Rahimova finally showed a monsterous display, just like those she has been showing last season all the time. Azerbaijani opposite noted 35 points!
Hitachi Rivale and JT Marvelous were also successful in this round.
