JPN M: Trefuerza handing over the crown in Japan to Toray! (VIDEO)

Toray Arrows’s eight-year fasting in the Japanese Men’s volleyball Championship is over.

The team based in the foothills of the Mount Fuji achieved a double win against reigning champions Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza in the Tokyo finals of the V.League.

After sweeping Trefuerza away 3-0 yesterday, Toray dropped one set in the rematch, partially 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23, to win their third championship title in Japan, first after eight years.  

Macedonian Nikola Gjorgiev topped Toray’s scorers in the second match with 32 points while his teammate Haku Lee stood out in blocking, making 6.

As for Trefuerza, Croatian Igor Omrčen finished the season with style, noting 38 points.
