After leading her team to an 8th straight win against GS Caltex (3-1) on February 13, Kim shocked fans by revealing, “No matter the results, I’ll retire after this season.”
Despite her age, she’s still dominating—ranking 1st among domestic players in scoring and excelling in attack success rates. But with Heungkuk Life closing in on the championship, it seems like the perfect time to step away.
Kim admitted she had been thinking about retirement for a while: “It’s never easy, but I believe this is the right moment. I just want to finish strong and move on to my next chapter.”
