Bluefangs
In front of nearly 3,000 spectators at Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium, which is half the capacity of the venue, the hosts Bluefangs (No.2) defeated Jumbos (No.3) by a 3-1 (28-26, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22) in Game 1 of the 2017-2018 V-League semifinals. The Bluefangs need one more win to advance to the finals and play top-seed Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers.
The Dutchman Thijs ter Horst topped the winning side with 31 points while Slovenian Mitja Gasparini and Jung Ji-Seok scored 18 points apiece for the Jumbos.
Game 2 is scheduled for March 20 at Jumbos’ home ground Incheon Gyeyang Gymnasium.
