USA and Canada to Face Off for Gold at NORCECA Pan American Cup Men’s Final Six

The NORCECA Pan American Cup Men’s Final Six concluded its round-robin stage in Edmonton, Canada. The USA clinched a place in the gold-medal match, sweeping Cuba 3-0, with Jalen Penrose leading the scoring with 11 points. They will face host Canada, who, despite a 3-2 loss to Mexico, advances based on their round-robin play record. Christopher Byam led the Canadian scoring with 20 points, while Luis Hernández Baca topped Mexico’s with 19 points.

Mexico will contest the bronze medal against Cuba, and Puerto Rico will vie for 5th place with the Dominican Republic. In the last match of the round-robin stage Puerto Rico defeated Dominican Republic a 3-2 with Klistan Lawrence scoring a match-high 28 points.
