The second seed Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass bounced back from 0-2 against No.3 GS Caltex Seoul Kixx in a decisive Game 3 of the playoff semifinals in V League – 3-2 (19-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-14, 15-11). The fact that all three games ended with a tie-break show how difficult this semifinal matchup was.
GS Caltex bravely held today knowing the fact that their best scorer Aliona Martiniuc was once again unable to play. The Moldovan opposite sustained a knee injury prior to Game 2. Prospect outside hitter Kang So-Hwi took the role of the leader for GS Caltex, scoring 27 points. Senegalese Fatou Diouck highlighted for Expressway with 26 points, waving her ex-club on departure from the playoffs.
In the finals, Expressway will face top seed Hungkuk Life Pink Spiders. The last time these two met for the championship title was 13 years ago. The series will start on March 21.
