By winning Game 3 of the 2018/19 Liga de Vóleibol Argentina playoff semifinals against third seed Libertad, No.1 Bolívar won the series by a 3-0 and will play for the national title for the fifth time in a row and also for the 13th time in the last 17 seasons.
Pablo Crer and Jan Martínez topped Bolívar with 13 points each in a 3-1 victory over Libertad, partially 20-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-21. Crer included four kill blocks and 82% excellent attack in his display. The Dutchman Kay van Dijk scored 13 points for Libertad while Maximiliano Gauna made four kill blocks.
Bolívar’s rival in the finals will be the winner of the matchup between the second seed Obras de San Juan and No.3 UPCN San Juan Voley Club. The titleholders reduced Obras’ series lead to 2-1 by prevailing in Game 3 in five sets.
Nicolás Lazo led UPCN’s scorers with 24 points (three aces). On the other side, Cuban Jesús Herrera poured in 27 points (five aces). His compatriot Osniel Melgarejo set up four kill blocks.
