The top seed Speedball Chekka, who suffered only one defeat overall in the 2018/19 Alfa Lebanese Men’s Volleyball Championship (19-1 in the regular season and 5-0 in the playoffs), became the country’s titleholders for the third year in a row.
Speedball Chekka swept the final series with No.2 seed Tannourine by a 3-0, winning Game 3 in front of 4,000 spectators at home ground in Hamat in straight sets, partially 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21.
Hiring Serbian opposite hitter Dušan Petković for the playoffs turned to a jackpot for Speedball Chekka as the best scorer of the Italian Championship this season dominated the finals, scoring 23 points (six aces) in a decisive match for the title. His compatriot Aleksandar Blagojević top-scored for Tannourine with 10 points.
