Ricardo Calvo won’t be organizing the attack of the record Slovenian men’s volleyball Championship winners, ACH Volley Ljubljana, after all.

The ex-Cuba National Team setter Calvo won’t wear the jersey of ACH volley in 2020/21 despite signing the contract with the Slovenian side. This occurred because of the impossibility of issuing a visa for which the ongoing coronavirus situation is to be blamed. So, the club and the player agreed to terminate the contract.

ACH Volley turned to another solution and brought the country’s national team member Gregor Ropret. The 31-year-old player has already worn the jersey of the team from the Slovenian capital (2011-2014), while he spent the last season in France’s Nantes Rezé. He was supposed to stay in France and strengthen Rennes. However, the fact that they are likely to be demoted to the second division due to financial irregularities made Ropret giving up on moving there.
