Esperance

Espérance Sportive de Tunis, coached by the renowned Serbian expert Ljubomir Travica, became the Tunisian champions for the 20th time in their history, the third time in a row, increasing the gap on the overall list of the national title winners in relation to Club Sportif Sfaxien (11).

Exactly Sfaxien were Espérance’s main rivals for the championship in the reopened 2019/20 season. Espérance secured the trophy in the last round, Day 10 of the playoffs, after sweeping Club Olympique de Kélibia, partially 25-22, 25-17, and 25-13. Thus, Sfaxien’s victory over Étoile Sportive du Sahel (3-0) was in vain. Espérance collected 29 points in the charts, while Sfaxien tallied 27.
