Gümligen hosted the 2020 Swiss Super Cup in both competitions.
Sm’Aesch Pfeffingen won the women’s trophy, the first-ever trophy in their club history, doing it in the year when they celebrate the 20th birthday. Sm’Aesch beat Viteos NUC in straight sets. Partially, it was 25-20, 25-21, and 27-25. An 18-year-old setter from the winning team, Annalea Maeder, was named MVP.
As for the men’s competition, LINDAREN Volley Luzern took the trophy in the same way as Sm’Aesch, by outplaying rivals, Lausanne UC, in three sets. Canadian Robert Wojcik, the opposite hitter from the losing side, top-scored the encounter with 15 points. However, the MVP came from Luzern. It was the outside hitter Tim Köpfli, who tallied 12 points in the match.
