Four best teams from the last season locked horns in Round 2 of the 2020/21 Super League regular season for women.
The vice-champions Shanghai defeated bronze medalists Beijing by a 3-1 (17-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-16). It was an expected outcome given the team from the country’s capital can’t count on a duo of foreigners Bjelica – Dixon yet. German Louisa Lippmann highlighted Shanghai with 32 points. Jin Ye scored 19 points on the losing side.
The titleholders Tianjin made their debut this season (had a day off in Round 1) with a victory over Guangdong, the fourth-ranked team from 2019/20. Li Yingying tallied 20 points for the winners. Bulgarian Dobriana Rabadzhieva scored 17 points for Guangdong and had 86 % reception (82 % perfect).
