The second-seed Jiangsu broke the ice in the playoff finals of the 2020/21 Chinese Women’s Super League. They defeated titleholders and also top seed Tianjin in four sets in Game 1 and need one more win to lift the championship trophy: 3-1 (25-18, 30-28, 23-25, 25-19).
Jiangsu was led in scoring by Zhang Changning (34 points, including 6 aces), while Ni Feifan was outstanding in reception (92 %; 92 % perfect). Wang Chenyue added 4 blocks. Li Yingying top-scored Tianjin with 29 points and had 74 % reception (74 % perfect). Wang Yuanyuan set up 4 blocks. Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow.
Shanghai claimed the bronze medal after sweeping the series against Guangdong. In both Game 1 and Game 2, Shanghai achieved a straight-set win.
