The Austrians wrestled the host Cemes HUMENNE (SVK) in an enthralling match in five sets 23:25/18:25/25:15/25:21/15:7). While ACH Volley – four time MEL-Champion in the last five years – and Hypo Tirol – MEL-Champion 2008/2009 – are regular guests of the Final-Four, it is the first attendance for Humenne and Kastela at the tournament.
ACH Volley LJUBLJANA, by the way, is still represented in an European Cup competition. After the third place in the Champions-League group stage they qualified for the CEV Cup and advanced in the semi-final ACH Volley competes with the Polish club Asseco Resovia Rzeszow for the final.
