Tiikerit KOKKOLA crowned their first appearance in the Finnish Cup finals with a 3:1 victory over VaLePa SASTAMALA (23-25, 28-26, 25-17, and 25-22) to confirm their status as the leading force in their country after winning last year’s national league.
The women’s final was a remake of last year’s clash starring multiple national champions LP SALO and LP KANGASALA. SALO were the “hot” favorites going into this match but similarly to what had happened last year, LP KANGASALA caused a sensation having the upper hand in straight sets (25-23, 25-16, and 25-19).
