WCHQ M: Tunisia continue victories as Congo overcome Niger

Hosts Tunisia maintained their superior performance and secured their second victory over Senegal 3-0 on the second day of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship qualification tournament in Tunis.

In another thrilling match of the day, Congo Brazzaville started their tournament campaign with an exciting win against Niger in a five set marathon 3-2 (25-17, 35-37, 14-25, 25-17, 15-12).

Tunisia led the five nation round robin tournament with a win-loss ratio of 2-0 (six points), followed by Seychelles, 1-0 (three points) and Congo Brazzaville 1-0 (two points)

The winner of the round robin tournament will earn the third African ticket to the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 21.

Results, Day 1

Senegal – Seychelles 1-3 (16-25, 25-18, 22-25, 19-25)

Niger – Tunisia 0-3 (16-25, 13-25, 12-25)

Day 2

Congo Brazzaville – Niger 3-2 (25-17, 35-37, 14-25, 25-17, 15-12)

Tunisia – Senegal 3-0 (25-16, 25-7, 25-17)
