De Cecco is set to compete in his fourth consecutive Olympic Games, following appearances in London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020. He earned this recognition after winning a bronze medal in Tokyo, where he was named the best setter and included in the tournament’s ideal team. His accolades also include five World Championships, a gold medal at the Pan American Games in Toronto 2015, and a championship at the South American Games in Recife 2023.

The Argentine team, confirmed for the Paris Olympics starting on July 26, will face the United States, Japan, and Germany in the initial phase. The squad, under coach Marcelo Méndez, features players who recently reached the quarter-finals in the VNL and secured qualification for Paris 2024. Notably, this edition of the Games allows for a 13-player roster.
