Americans clinched their first victory by beating Colombia in a three setter match (25-18, 25-23, 25-15) with captain Zachary LaCavera as their top scorer with 15 points in the third match of Day 2 in Pool A.

In the other two games, Argentina defeated Venezuela in straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 35-33, 25-23) while Puerto Rico was better than Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 28-26).
