JT Thunders
The leader in the standings was better than Panasonic Panthers in a derby of Round 17. JT Thunders scored an away win in straight sets, with partial 20-25, 20-25, 21-25.
Thus, it firmly holds he top spot with almost unattainable advantage comparing to today’s rivals and Suntory Sunbirds.
Best scorers: JT Thunders – Leandro Vissotto (16) and Yu Koshikawa (15), Panthers – Tatsuya Fukuzawa (15) and Kunihiro Shimizu (14).
Suntory Sunbirds unpleasantly surprised own fans after losing home to JTEKT Stings in four sets. Sunbirds were led by Evandro Guerra (17) and Kentaro Hoshiya (11). In Stings, Fernando Hernández had 31 and Hiroaki Asano 18 points.
Igor Omrčen’s 31 points were quite enough for Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza to beat last placed F.C. Tokyo Volleyball Team while Toray Arrows defeated Sakai Blazers away in four sets thanks to 18 points from Dejan Bojović. Milan Pepić scored 21 in the losing team.
