WoV DREAM TEAM: Ignaczak leads the race, Rossini and Shoji need your help

Who is your favorite libero?

Who is your favorite libero?

The current leader on the list for the best libero is Krzysztof Ignaczak, player of Asseco Resovia. Despite being at the late stage of his career (36 years old), this guy is still amazing. He started the new campaign on the best possible way – with the gold medal from the World Championship! After that, he retired from the national team, but he still did not want to quit volleyball entirely, so he rejoined Asseco Resovia to take his place of the starting libero. Ignaczak helped the Polish powerhouse to seize the silver medal in the CEV Champions League. According to the results of our Poll, volleyball fans simply love him.

Right behind on the list is Teodor Salparov, a direct opponent of Krzysztof Ignaczak from the Champions League finals. Bulgarian player was in charge of all defensive actions of Zenit, and eventually it was him who cheered at the end, as Kazan side won the most valuable trophy of the season. Salparov could not play in the Russian Championship due to limit of the foreign players, so he has received plenty of offers after winning the CEV Champions League. But, he decided to turn down every single one of them and to enjoy the big success together with his family.

The third placed on the list at the moment is Jenia Grebennikov, the best libero of the last World Championship. The Frenchman is currently preparing for the big finals of the German Championship in which his Friedrichshafen will try to dethrone BR Volleys. After that, everything is possible. There are many rumors which suggest that Grebennikov might continue career in Lube.

While Grebennikov and Friedrichshafen will try to conquer the German Championship, Erik Shoji and BR Volleys will try to defend the crown. The American libero has “exploded” in the previous season. He proved his class on the latest Champions League Final Four, where he helped BR Volleys to seize the bronze medal, and to achieve the greatest success in club’s history.

Finally, Salvatore Rossini needs your votes the most, as he is currently in the “relegation” zone of our Poll. The player of Modena got in the centre of attention in this season by some unbelievable saves. Stunning reflexes and leg digs became his trademark.
