FIN M: New champion is… Tiikerit! (VIDEO)

Tiikerit was only the second team in Finland’s history to win the championship title without losing a single playoff game since the season 1997/98, when KuPS-Volley did the same.

Drama was seen only in the third set. After easily losing the first two sets, Hurrikaani came out very strongly in the third and found a 4-point lead (16-20) after Tuomas Koppanen’s excellent performance.

The home crowd gave an amazing support to Tiikerit who rose up and leveled at 21-21 led by Romans Saušs.

Immediately after, Olli-Pekka Ojansivu scored an ace for Tiikerit’s lead which it kept until the end of the game to become the Finnish champion for the second time in its history.

The first title came two years ago, while in the last season, Tiikerit took the silver medal.
