QAT M: Collection of stars at Emir Cup, semifinals about to start!

One of the strongest competitions in Asia, Emir Cup, came to its finish. The semifinals will start on May 10 with several big names of world volleyball participating. Recall, Qatar Volleyball Federation allows only two foreigners per team.

El Jaish SC, coached by Italian Camillo Placì who started the season as Technical Director of the club, has the German star György Grozer and Cuban Leonel Marshall in its squad.

In the semis, El Jaish will face Al Arabi SC Doha that has Croatian coach Ljubomir Travica, with Kenyan Philip Maiyo and Cuban Osmany Juantorena as foreigners. The team has another registered foreign player, the Cuban Yadrian Escobar. Al Arabi is current winner of Qatar Cup and defending champion of Emir Cup.

In the second semifinal, Qatar champion, Al Rayyan SC, with Italian Daniele Bagnoli on the bench, will face Police SC.

Al Rayyan did a great job in transfer market for Emir Cup with hiring Italian Cristian Savani (played in the national championship and Qatar Cup) and Wilfredo León, the Cuban superstar from Russian Zenit. The club has the Czech Jan Štokr registered as well.

Police will play with Albanian Gazmend Husaj and Dominican José Cáceres (played in Qatar Cup).
