After losing 4 matches against Belgium at the start of the tournament, the Finnish team scored two victories againt Portugal in Pool E, both at home.
Yesterday, Finland needed only 3 sets, but today it had to work harder – 3-1 (25-23, 28-30, 25-14, 25-23).
Thus, Portugal ended 3rd weekend of the World league with all 4 losses.
Olli-Pekka Ojansivu was proverbially the best scorer in Finland (18) followed by the duo with 16 points – Antti Siltala and Matti Oivanen.
Hugo Gaspar had 18 and André Reis Lopes 11 points for Portugal.
