Serbia and Croatia set an opener in Baku (Azerbaijan) with the neighbourly derby of Pool B.
Serbian team was in a much better mood, sweeping out the opponent in straight sets, partially 25-15, 25-17, 25-17.
Jelena Nikolić was the main star of the winning team with 12 points. Samanta Fabris collected 13 in Croatia.
In Pool A, Italian national team easily cruised past Belgium with a clear win – 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-20).
The receiver of the winning team, Anastasia Guerra was unstoppable with 18 points. Charlotte Leys scored 15 for Belgium.
