NZL: Men’s and Women’s championships set to begin on Wednesday

Men’s and Women’s 48th championships in New Zealand will start tomorrow at the ASB Arena.

Fifty eight teams from all around the country will converge onMountMaunganuito compete for the Division 1 and 2 club titles as well as a newly added Masters Division.

The teams will play in pools for the first two and a half days, with Division 1 semifinals kicking off at 18.30 on Friday evening and the finals scheduled for Saturday at 17.00 local time – Women’s and 18.30 – Men’s.

On the men’s side, Pines Volleyball Club from Nelson will be trying to make it four titles in a row, with the major challenges likely to come from Mauao, Harbour Raiders and Playaz.

On the women’s side, Harbour Raiders will be looking for a repeat of the title they won last year for the first time, while Tauranga (finalists in the last five championships), Mauao and Shirley will put on a strong fight.
