Today, in front of 2’700 enthusiastic fans at Baskent Sports Hall in Ankara, hosts Turkey outplayed Brazil in the top match of Pool A; in amazing straight sets, while Dominican Republic was stronger then China and also took the leader position of Pool B. Both teams have 9 points.
Captain Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez led her side with 17 points, including 13 spikes, three blocks and one ace. Her sister Jineiry Martinez and Yonkaira Paola Peña helped the Dominicans with 12 kills each. In Turkish team Kubra Akman surprised the South American side with 18 points.
