Dominican Republic top women’s U20 rankings

Dominican Republic’s U20 women’s team are now top of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U20 World Rankings following their recent victory in the FIVB Volleyball U20 Women’s World Championship.

Wagner Pacheco’s side defeated Brazil 3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 25-17, 24-26, 16-14) in the final in Puerto Rico and the two teams occupy the top two places; Dominican Republic with 122 points and Brazil on 120. 

Japan may have missed out on the bronze medal when they lost 3-0 (28-26, 25-22, 25-19) to Italy, but they are third in the rankings with 96 points. 

Italy are fifth with 83 points, with Serbia sandwiched between the two sides on 90.
