Led by members of Iranian national team, Paykan easily jumped over the first hurdle. Al Ahly suffered straight sets defeat 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-15).
Farhad Ghaemi (14 points), Amir Ghafour (12) and Mojtaba Mirzajanpour (8) were the players who created the win of the Iranian side. Of course, we can not forget the brain of the team Valerio Vermiglio and Bulgarian middle blocker Nikolay Nikolov.
On the other side, Ahmed El Kotb had 14 points.
