On that occasion, the President of the CEV, Serbian Aleksandar Boričić hosted the President of the International Volleyball Federation, Brazilian Dr Ary S. Graça.
The speech of CEV President Boričić confirmed some changes in the way national teams will qualify to the Olympics in near future. He emphasized once again that the 2019 European Championship winners will definitely secure their spot at the 2020 Olympics!
“This time around the Olympic qualification process has been designed in such a way that it is extremely difficult especially for European teams to get that much desired ticket. My wish is that for the future we will be working closely with the FIVB in order to define a system where the 12 spots available for the Olympic tournament will go to the organizer, to one team per Continental Confederation and after that the remaining six slots will be assigned in such way that the most competitive and strongest teams at that moment will be able to crown their Olympic dream and to perform on the world’s most coveted stage,” stated Boričić.
Graça said that he was pleased to share this historic moment with the leaders of Europe’s Volleyball family, with so many colleagues and friends, and also with coaches and players. He asked Europe’s Volleyball family to continue their efforts to further develop Volleyball worldwide, to spread volleyball to more markets, and with that all would enjoy more TV exposure and attract sponsors.

Hahaha, but what about World Champions? World Champion is worse than European or any different continent champion? What the hell?!
