IRN: Marouf’s Urmia suffer major upset, journalists not allowed to watch the game!

A bizarre thing occured before this match. Due to the lack of coordination, mass media representatives did not get permission of enter inside the gymnasium in Tabriz despite waiting at the entrance gate for several hours. So, spectators were sitting in the seats reserved for the journalists. 

„We did not expect to perform such a good game against Urmia. Saied Marouf has ability to paralyze any rival team by distributing balls to his teammates in a proper way. However, we were great in serving and gave hard time to Urmia’s reception. In addition, our defense was almost unbreakable. This game was critical for us, we were obliged to win and stay in playoff zone. So, motivation of my players was so high and we bravely took the game,” Adel Banakar, the coach of Tabriz said after the game to our reporter.

Mikaeil Tajer from Tabriz was the best scorer of the game with 19 points, while Urmia’s player Milad Ebadipour had 16.

Sarmayeh Bank scored 14th win in a row (18th overall). They defeated Kalleh Sports Club on road 3-1(25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 25-22) and most probably secured first place for the playoff.
