George, the first Hindu professional volleyball player, was renowned for his exceptional spiking reach, which was considered extraordinary over 30 years ago. Tragically, he passed away in a car accident in Italy on November 30, 1987, at just 32 years old.
He rose to prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s, making waves in the volleyball world with his remarkable jumping ability and dominating performances at multiple Asian Games.
Thanks to this, George secured a move to Italy, where he played for Treviso during the 1982/1983 and 1985/1986 seasons, Impiani in 1983/1984, and Gabeca in 1987.
