Under the guidance of an assistant coach Juan Manuel Cichello, 32 players divided into two groups, of 18 (group 1) and 14 (group 2), had started to train in “Azadi Sport Complex” in Tehran. Head coach Raúl Lozano was not present due to obligations in the Polish Championship.
All the players that were summoned showed up, with the exception of Seyed Mousavi who was absent because of personal problems – Marouf, Mahdavi, Ghafour, Gholami, Ebadipour…
World Qualifiers are set on May 28 – June 5 with the first three teams securing Rio spot from the tournament.
