Puerto Rico defeated Algeria in front of 6000 spectators at Robert Clemente Coliseum in straight sets 25-10, 25-11 and 25-12.
Karina Ocasio and Alexandra Oquendo were the top scorers of the winning team with 9 points each.
In the first match of the tournament Colombia was better than Kenya . World star Madelaynne Montano with 16 points led her team to the first victory 25:14, 25:15, 25:13.
