Glenn Hoag’s side was trailing after the first set (25-23), but in another three they outscored the rival to stay in race for Rio ticket – 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19!
John Gordon Perrin was the key member for beating Japan as he scored 21 points. Gavin Schmitt added 18, while on the other side Kunihiro Shimizu had 14 points.
With this victory, Canada is still in race for the last ticket that leads to Rio! They have to beat China tomorrow to claim the spot at the Volleyball Olympic tournament.
