Before Castiglione, Franches-Montagnes hired two American youngsters straight from their university – opposite Kaylin Squyres (University of California Davis) and setter Nicole Edelman (University of Colorado Boulder), while German middle blocker Eva Michalski renewed.
Franches-Montagnes want to end domination of Volero Zürich in Swiss Championship, who took 11 of last 12 titles.
