Originally the club was managed by the Ministry of Defense but has since turned into a private organization, with many girls having joined it with the ambition to recall the golden days of the past. They do not have much experience but with the help of their head coach Genci Nexhipi they will try to defend the glorious honor of Dinamo.
“We still have financial problems as we do not have much support but we will try to stand the challenge brought by the best teams. And this is anyway a unique opportunity for the girls to gain valuable experience by participating in the national league” says Nexhipi. In the past few years Dinamo had participated exclusively in the youth and junior national league, finishing regularly among the top 4.
In the meantime the first domestic competition was completed two days ago in Durres, namely the women’s Federation Cup that was joined by four teams, Teuta, UMB Volley, Tirana and Partizani. Teuta opened by downing Partizani in straight sets in the semis to play UMB Volley that had got the upper hand with Tirana (3:1). The final match turned into a real drama with Teuta winning the first set 25-15 and UMB Volley responding by claiming the next two (25-17 and 25-19). Teuta eventually got back on track in set 4 (25-18) and stretched that good tempo to the tie-break (15-7) to claim the trophy for the first time, as defending champion Minatori was absent.
