Marek Union-Ivkoni started its first adventure last week by losing 1:3 to Arkas IZMIR in Turkey but the Bulgarian rookies are improving the quality of their play match after match and hope to continue that positive trend. This past weekend DUPNITSA beat the national vice champions of Pirin RAZLOG 3:1 and remain atop of the standings in their domestic league.
“This win is really important for the general mood of the players before we play Noliko MAASEIK. This is one of the best teams in Europe and it is a honor for us to play that side” says head coach Nayden Naydenov.
The Belgians are traveling to Bulgaria after downing CAI TERUEL of Spain in three sets in their season’s opening and are also the current leaders in their national championship.
