Grupa Azoty Chemik Police beat ŁKS Commercecon Łódź in the derby of Round 20 of the 2019/20 Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season.

After a fierce battle in the match that closed the 20th round of the 2019/20 Liga Siatkówki Kobiet regular season, Chemik were better than the champions ŁKS. Recently, these rivals met in the quarterfinals of the Polish Cup and in that encounter, Chemik didn’t give the slightest chance to the Łódź based side, winning in straight sets. This time, the players from ŁKS laid down their weapons after much stronger resistance: 3-2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10).

Looking at the standings, these two teams are separated by a significant difference in points. With the victory, Chemik collected 54 points (19-1) and remained the leaders. Their today’s opponents now have 38 points and are third-placed (12-8).

Cuban Wilma Salas highlighted for Chemik with 23 points. Serbian Katarina Lazović scored 24 for the losing side.
