The Iranian outside hitter Ebadipour has recently received Polish citizenship. Volleyball players usually decide to make such an act in order to gain the right to compete for the national team of the country whose citizenship they obtain, i.e. to change sports nationality.

However, according to volleyball.it, this isn’t the case with the 26-year-old player who has been a member of PGE Skra Bełchatów since 2017. Polish citizenship will only make it easier for Ebadipour to enter and leave the country, but it doesn’t change anything in terms of volleyball. He remains of Iranian sports nationality and will continue to play for the national team of his homeland. In Polish competitions, Ebadipour will still be counted as a foreign player.
