POL M: Warszawa on verge of suffering surprising defeat from Lubin

VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa made a turnaround in the opening match of the second round of the 2020/21 Polish men’s volleyball Championship against Cuprum Lubin.

The title contenders Warszawa were on the verge of suffering a surprising defeat from Lubin in Round 2 of the 2020/21 PlusLiga regular season. The team from the Polish capital trailed 2-0 in sets before turning the match around: 3-2 (20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-12).

Artur Szalpuk top-scored for Warszawa with 24 points (4 kill blocks). Jan Król made 73 % attack. Wojciech Ferens and Colombian Ronald Jiménez tallied 16 points apiece for the losing side. Kamil Maruszczyk had 75 % reception (19 % perfect).
