The reigning champions Grupa Azoty Chemik Police successfully set off the title defense campaign in the Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship.
The newcomers to TAURON Liga, UNI Opole, had the inauguration of the 2021/22 season no less than against the reigning champions Grupa Azoty Chemik Police. With the exception of the third set in which they trailed by 4-5 points, Chemik (having several new players in the line-up compared to last season and with the recently appointed head coach, who came straight from the country’s women’s national team – Jacek Nawrocki) confidently took the first three points in the title defense campaign.
Agnieszka Kąkolewska top-scored Chemik with 17 points, including six blocks. Maria Stenzel made 82 % reception (11 digs, 45 % perfect).
