The reigning Polish club champions Grupa Azoty Chemik Police showed their claws in the 2021/22 TAURON Liga hit against the vice-champions Developres BELLA DOLINA Rzeszów, valid for the last round (Round 22), to secure the victory in the regular season. In a direct duel for the No. 1, Chemik prevailed 3-1, mostly thanks to Serbian Jovana Brakočević-Canzian (19 points). Agnieszka Kąkolewska and Martyna Czyrniańska set up 4 blocks apiece, while Maria Stenzel made 74% reception (19 digs, 37% perfect).

Prior to the encounter, the Rzeszów side, fresh from the elimination in the CEV Champions League quarter-finals, needed to take a minimum of 2 sets to stay at the top, but their rivals, now focused to fight for the only possible trophy in the season, extended their run to 7 games in the Polish Championship, breaking Developres’ streak that lasted for 4 months and included 12 games.
