DevelopRes Rzeszów opened their Tauron Liga quarterfinal campaign in dominant fashion, defeating Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz in straight sets. The reigning Polish champions and regular season leaders confirmed their favorite status with a composed and efficient performance.
The hosts controlled the match from the outset, overwhelming their opponents in the first set and maintaining their advantage throughout. Despite a more competitive second set, DevelopRes never lost control and closed out the match comfortably in three sets.
Taylor Bannister led all scorers with 16 points for DevelopRes, while Julita Piasecka added 14 points and earned MVP honors thanks to her 68% attack efficiency (13/19) and one ace. For Pałac Bydgoszcz, Monika Głodzińska was the top contributor with 11 points.
The best-of-three series now shifts to Bydgoszcz, where the second match will take place on March 28.
