Skra vs. Resovia
As visitors, in front of packed stands in „Energia Hall“ (nearly 2,700 spectators), Asseco Resovia Rzeszów needed four exhausting sets to prevail over PGE Skra Bełchatów 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-20, 25-22).
Despite reinforcing fierce rivals, Resovia’s superstar Bartosz Kurek, who took three national titles with Skra from 2008 to 2012, was greeted with applause by Skra’s fans.
Kurek wasn’t generous towards them as he demolished his ex-club with 31 points with 64% of successful attack! On the other side of the net, Kurek had a worthy opponent in a former teammate Mariusz Wlazły who scored 17 points (4 aces).
As for the other players, the American outside hitter Thomas Jaeschke was the only player besides Kurek with double digits in Resovia – 12 points (3 aces) with 73% of successful attack.
Same situation in Skra – Argentine Facundo Conte added 14 points as second and only remained figure with double digits in his team.
