Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle is the greatest revelation of this season’s Plusliga, but they couldn’t cope with silver medalists Lotos Trefl Gdańsk 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-10).
Supported by more than 3,000 spectators at home court, Zaksa had everything in their hands as they gained 2-1 lead in sets.
In the fourth set, the MVP of the match Damian Schulz, returned to the court after a short break and continued to bomb hosts.
Trefl equalized in sets and had a better beginning in the tie break 6-2. Zaksa’s players had big problems in reception and also could not break through the tight block of Trefl, 15-10 in the fifth and final set.
Schulz had 19 in winning team, while Dominik Witczak scored 17 in Zaksa.
